Reduced VAT rates (EU)

    plug&paid users that are based in the European Union can enable reduced VAT rates for certain types of product/service categories according to their country of registration. These rates are updated automatically for each country following the directives of the European Commission here.


    Once enabled, products that are listed in any of the reduced rate categories will also automatically get assigned the corresponding VAT rate applied during checkout. Please use this feature if you are sure that reduced rates apply to your specific product or service. 


    Example: If you are a hotel owner based in Belgium selling accommodation services, then 6% VAT rate should apply instead of the 21% standard rate. When you create your product in plug&paid simply select the "Hotel/Accommodation" category. 


    In your shopping cart, we will display the reduced rate and automatically charge buyers on your behalf (if you have enabled automatic calculation in your settings page). The categories and rates that apply for each country as listed below.
